Burning Photographs to CD and DVD

Zoner Photo Studio supports the direct creation of image CDs and DVDs of several types:

pictures only

pictures plus a freely distributable viewer

the Video CD format

the Super Video CD format

Instead of immediately burning files to a CD, you can also save a planned CD's contents
to a specified folder or as an ISO file for burning in another burning program.

CD Viewer

If you check the Include a CD viewer option while preparing to burn a CD, your CD or DVD will include a freely distributable viewer that will let users of the CD easily browse its entire contents. The viewer includes the features and functions from the full Zoner Photo Studio that are most relevant for browsing a photo CD, like browsing with or without thumbnails, displaying EXIF metadata, and rotation. The visibility of many Browser elements can be set already during the setup of the given CD in the burning dialog.

CD Compilations

One special feature in Zoner Photo Studio is CD Compilations, a special display for CD compilations that are in preparation. This works similarly to ZPS's albums (files and folders are represented here using Windows shortcuts). You can thus use a collection of shortcuts to easily assemble data for burning, without having to physically increase the volume of data stored on your disk by copying the source files. You can see the resulting volume of data in the compilation at any time. You can edit
a prepared compilation at any time and re-burn it as needed.

There are two ways you can burn from Zoner Photo Studio. You can either burn marked files directly or you can create a CD compilation using the Manage New Object | New CD Compilation menu item. A CD compilation is similar to an album (i.e. files and folders are stored there as shortcuts
to actual images). When you view it in ZPS, beneath it is shown a burning toolbar with two buttons, Burn and Recalculate Size. CD compilations can be edited and burned as many times
as needed.

Customizable Burning

When burning photos using Zoner Photo Studio, you can set such parameters of the burning process as the maximum burn speed or buffer underrun protection.

ZPS also enables the burning of data in the VideoCD format for viewing on tabletop DVD players, and even allows inclusion of more than 99 photos (unlike other programs). Use the Generate Index Pages option to generate a Video CD menu made up of several pages with titles, an adjustable number
of thumbnails, navigation, and a description for each image. These image descriptions can include information from pictures' EXIF data.

Note: in order for CD burning from Zoner Photo Studio to function correctly, you will need to install the program's CD burning drivers.
